Passi, real name Passi Balende, is a Franco-Congolese rapper, singer-songwriter and producer. He is regarded by the specialist press as one of the founding fathers of French rap, along with NTM, IAM and MC Solaar.
Passi first came to prominence as a member of Ministère A.M.E.R., the group he formed with his friends to record the soundtrack to the film La Haine, before embarking on a solo career.
Passi made his television debut in Mamady Sidibé's series Inspecteur Sori : le mamba, then went on to appear in the film No Way, co-produced by Ivorian director Owell Brown. After a few appearances and small roles, in 2019 he landed the lead role in Lisa Bierwirth's film The Prince, which he co-stars in with Austrian actress Ursula Strauss, playing in English for the first time.

Salut les Terriens! is a French talk show hosted by Thierry Ardisson, launched on Canal+ on November 4, 2006, and then moved to C8 on September 10, 2016. The show subsequently changed its name and format in 2018 to become Les Terriens du Samedi! (The Earthlings of Saturday!). Initially conceived as a humorous take on current events with several guests and various games and segments, it later evolved into a more structured format with panel discussions and regular segments. In 2018, Thierry Ardisson sought to revamp the concept, believing the previous version had run its course, hence the transition to Les Terriens du samedi! with a new set and new segments, and a 360-degree turn in the ideology of the guests.

Dance, graffiti, and DJing are explored with most of the pioneers of the movement, such as Squat, Dee Nasty, Crazy B, Lionel D, Kool Shen, DJ Mehdi… as well as Mode2 and Jon One for graffiti. The 1 hour and 20 minutes alternate between footage of concerts and artists in the studio, like DJ Pone, with commentary primarily from rappers but also from other key figures. Rap ? Violent words, a social chronicle without complacency at a time of the politically correct and a wishywashy consensus. Twenty years after its first babblings in the popular quarters of New York, rap has imposed its presence beyond the borders. Je rap donc je suis (I Rap Therefore I Am) goes around five different towns where it meets rappers driven by the same motivation. In Paris and its suburbs, Marseille and its districts, Algiers, London or Berlin, rappers move, play, record, teach... And above all, they talk. Outside of any promotional context, the present-day heralds of French hip-hop, from La Rumeur to IAM, speak about the role of rap, the environment in which it was born, boredom, the feeling of belonging to a sacrificed generation, drugs in districts of towns, immigration, parents, political and social actors, the police, school, writing, money, the parallel economy, violence...
